Thank you all for your response to last Friday’s post— my first attempt at video! Your comments and emails have been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m so grateful.
I hadn’t planned to do this, but on the same day the post dropped, I found myself in a beautiful location and impulsively decided to make another video with more thoughts about self-efficacy. I hope you enjoy it.
Did anyone find the “make a video” analogy inspiring?
What did you do to increase your self-efficacy?
What, or who, made you feel grateful during that process?
Stuff You Might Like To Know
IN A FLASH, the literary magazine I’m co-editing with my writing group (the Flashies) will be open for submissions from November 1-15 on the theme of BODY. See our Submission Guidelines post for more details.
I’m listening to the podcast We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle et al. I highly recommend the episode where they interview Governor Tim Walz (he’s so good!) and the episode titled “When You’re Tired Of Holding Up The Sky,” which spoke directly to my soul. They reference self-efficacy in that episode!
I’m reading A WELL-TRAINED WIFE: MY ESCAPE FROM CHRISTIAN PATRIARCHY by Tia Levings and it’s an incredible memoir. She’s so good at walking through the thought process that keeps a spirited woman in an oppressive place.
Here’s to us, in all of our imperfect, striving goodness.
Keep hoping. Keep caring. Keep trying.
